Simile’s Marriage….

Functions like marriages always bring joy and smile for the people who are part of it. So does Simile’s marriage. We had a great time. Well, suffixing a “chechi” with the above name makes me less arrogant but at the cost of poor readability. Whatsoever it may be Simile is Varun’s sister. It’s after a long time I attend a marriage outside Kannur. As such ma primary duty was to list the difference in the functions in that part of the state. Together with that I made comments to Niju and Praveesh so as to conclude the marriages at Kannur are much better. But even then I liked a function at that place. After the marriage ceremony the Bride’s mother brought two glasses of milk. The Bride and the Groom drank a little of it and then exchanged the glasses. To mention another difference that I noticed, the married couples will stay at bride’s house for couple of days…..

As a whole we had awesome  time there…

Happy harthal….

Yet another Hathal. Now a day’s people have placed harthals among Onam, Vishu etc. I feel Harthal is a good way to “build a brand”. No matter which party calls for a  Harthal they are able to make people aware of their presence in the Politics or in the society. But a million dollar question left is “Did ever any harthal produced fruitful results?” many harthals have been “conducted” successfully for many reasons, but did they ever make any difference..?????

To make a difference from the rest today’s harthal, the organizers are abounding Train Service also… Soon harthal’s will be applicable to Air Service too.

Some of the usual outcomes of a normal harthal are: (not in any order )

Loss of Public wealth

Difficulty to Common People

Difficulty to Tourists (they feels to quit from here ASAP)

Loss of work for the daily wages class.

Financial Loss to the Government (in many many regards)

Lack of transportation makes conditions miserable for Patients and to handle emergency situations etc.

Many more…listing this much for time now…

Any how, I wish you all a happy Harthal…enjoy the day…

A visit to Supplyco….

Last week I accompanied ma frined for shopping. It was me who asked him to give a try to Supplyco. I had seen an advertisement of it in the town. All necessary food items are sold at a very low price. I just wanted to know the truth in it. So we both reached at the Supplyco. If my memory serves good I am going there after 5 or 6 years. To ma surprise hardly any changes there other than for the young lady at the billing counter. On entering I saw that almost all stands were deserted. Saw a label saying “Good quality sugar at low price” but I think even the Tea the workers had no sugar. Same with Rice and other items. Only good looking adds about the slashed rates, can’t find any items inconveniently mentioned in those ads.

The real stuff that made me to write this post is the Wheat(Atta) Stand. It was said wheat powder at 15/kg or so. I told ma friend “it’s good to get wheat at that rate…”. I took three packets. Before putting it into the basket I checked the rate. Raidco is the producer. So I thought Govt is selling at a subsidized rate. And the subsidized rate is 33.00/kg.

So where has the 15 Rupee Atta disappeared…??? Is 33/kg the slashed rate….

അഹങ്കാരം പറയുകയല്ല …എന്നാലും പറയട്ടെ ,വേണമെങ്കില്‍ ഇതിലും ചെറിയ രൂപക്ക് ഞാന്‍ വില്കാം

We say the public is going behind new generation supermarkets. But why do they go? It’s only because the government and the Government undertakings fail miserably to deliver quality goods at acceptable rates. No matter who rules , the departments like Supplyco , maveli Store etc have witnessed a remarkable degradation in their services to the public

Back after a pause…

For almost a month i had not made any scribblings here. Was lil busy with exams and all….

Yes your honour

This day was very much different from my routine. It’s Black day for us at college. I prepared to be in black dress. But this morning I woke up with a call from my old friend. He needs my help. He wants me to accompany his father for a case in the court as he is out of station. The case was against his father’s old partner. So I prepared myself to be at court.
By 9.30 we reached there. After the discussion with our advocate we waited at the verandah for the case to be called. The opposition lawyer did not reach. After some time he reached. I gazed at that veteran face. No one in that place was as old as him. But seeing his car made me feel he is very young.
Waiting..waiting…waiting… Nothing much is happening. Some people came and asked me “civil aano…?” I gently told no …”i am cse”. I wondered how they knew I am an engineering student. It took some time for me to understand that at court if someone say that I am criminal it means he is a criminal lawyer and civil is the category the case falls.

Lets fall back I was very much frustrated. We waited for more than 2hours. Yet no updates from our lawyer. No bench to sit. Of course there were 2-3 benches. Sitting there would merely make my moms washing task more complex. Finally the court began by 11.30am. Very much different from what I have seen in movies. The judge was a lady around 50 and the room and the furniture there was twice older to her. I thought I can wrap up things soon and go to college. The clerk called each case in the order. The room was filled and was noisy. When each case was called the one or other lawyer spoke in voice as much low as possible. To my surprise the judge was nodding her head. Me- who stood very near to the lawyers, could not make out what they said. But the judge could. She gave reply. Same is the situation. I could not understand even a single word. But the joy on a lawyer’s face made me feel that he is the Indian captain who won football world cup.
Each one finally says “yes your honor.” As if that is the string to be passed to notify the end of communication from their end. It took another 2 hour to call our case. Within 2 minutes they informed us it’s postponed to 25th March. To hear this we waited for more than 5hours.

The day was a black day for two reasons. I could not be the part of celebrations at college and got messed up in a weird job. Secondly most of the people around me where completely in black…..

Even google can go wrong…

My friend send a mail to some of his friends including me. He used the group mailing list made using Google apps. Unfortunately the subject of the forwarded mail was “remove me”. Soon ma friend got removed from that group.

For more updates on this news contact ma friend

She!

First of all let me tell, I want to tell you about her.Well she is not ma gal friend. She is my sister. (Not the real one). As always name does not matter much. So I am not telling her name. Although I know her much before, destiny took its time to bring her in my company. Her acquaintance makes things lively. Many a times when I talk to her I feel that I am talking to her sister. Actually her sister is a good friend of mine. You might be wondering why I tell about these sisters. To be true nothing much.
What prompted me to write about these sisters are the similarities I found in both. I know that’s not a big deal. But I never felt this much resemblance before. By looks hardly anything comes identical. The way of talking, modulation, some words, attitude towards problems are some of the “attributes” found identical in both. At regular intervals both tell “ente daivame…ente amme” to show their exclamation in any regard. It will be difficult for a human to differentiate this word of each one. Scientifically you can explain it using x,y,z theories and make a inference that the said is a usual thing in genetic Engineering. Can also tell that it’s not worth blogging! But the real time experience is different and exclusive for me…

Hello World….CeTly L!ve hits 100!

Hello world,

We have made it. Let me tell you this is the 100th post in CeTlyL!ve. It came in no time.  This is an awesome response for our work.

The idea to set up a  Campus Blog for College Of Engineering Thalassery was with us  from 2009 January. Earlier attempts were made to get an official status. Unfortunately that ends with leaving disappointment on our hearts and faces. Niju was confident. He was ready to give a try. Thus on December 14th 2010 the unofficial campus blog of College Of Engineering Thalassery was launched in an unofficial way.

To  summarize ma experience as the admin  brings a mixed kind of emotion. I got different kind of responses from students. Some told they are not good in English. Some made the point “we are not content writers” . They told that to me as if i was rated as the best content writer. Few students told we are interested but we don’t know who to use it. For the first time i realized Wordpress Interface is not very easy(at least  until you get familiarized with it).Of the said 3 groups of student latter mentioned had the first priority.  As such new roles were left to me. Introductory classes and sessions were made. The most FAQ during the course of publicity was about the profit of site owner with this site . Each time i made it clear to all that CeTly L!ve is a non-profit endeavor moderated by voluntary students.

With in 2 months after its launch we are one of the best Campus Blogs in the network.
